Calling All Wannabe Dog Owners
The MADACC has reached critical capacity and has put out the call for humans who love canines.

Dog people: the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission needs your help!
The shelter has reached critical capacity and has put out the call for humans who love canines.
The MADACC does not turn away animals, which has led to them having nearly 200 dogs in their care. Unfortunately they only have 149 kennels and need to make more room. So, if you’ve been waiting for a sign to adopt a dog, this may be it.
As you know, dogs are the best. They don’t care about your looks, your job or what kind of car you drive. They think you’re the absolute best, even if you’re weird, boring or smell bad. In fact, they may even like you even more if you stink.
When you’ve got a dog, there’s always somebody happy to see you walk in the door. You’ve got a pal that sits and binges TV shows with you and patiently listens to whatever is on your mind without interrupting.
Dogs are great for getting off the couch, too. As you know, patio season is now underway. And Milwaukee has a lovely assortment of dog-friendly beer gardens where you and your right-hand mutt can make new friends.
But giving a buddy a forever home isn’t the only way to help the cause. You can also foster a dog. You can make a donation or purchase items from their Amazon and Chewy wish lists. You can volunteer at the shelter. And you can even just share the MADACC story on your social media channels to help spread the word about the need for adopters.
The shelter is located at 3839 W. Burnham Street in Milwaukee. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. They’re not fancy, so there’s no need to make an appointment.
Okay, now get out there and make some tails wag!
