Floating Watering Hole

Published On: July 9, 2022

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you combined a pontoon with a corner bar, you can find the answer along the Wisconsin River near Plover.

The Sandbar is a floating watering hole docked at Ridgewood on the River, an RV camping resort on the Biron Flowage.

The 35-seat vessel is the brainchild of Mike and Kathleen Langlois, who, in addition to running the resort, have a background in making cool stuff. Mike is a certified commercial designer and builder, while Kathleen is a mechanical engineer, which means it floats far better than anything you and your good-time buddies could build.

The boat/tavern has everything passengers need to enjoy a cocktailing cruise. There’s a captain, a cook and bartenders. Plus there are bathrooms and personal floatation devices onboard. They really thought of everything. All there is for you to do is drink in the scenery and, of course, the drinks.

The Sandbar is open Saturdays and Sundays and for private events. Visit their website to learn more.
