A website called LoveFood has found the most expensive restaurant in each state, and a Milwaukee eatery called Carnevor tops the list in Wisconsin.

The steak restaurant bills itself as “Downtown Milwaukee’s Premier Dining Experience.” Among the “Chef’s Reserve” offerings on the menu are a 16-ounce ribeye for $130, a 14-ounce New York strip for $180, and a 6-ounce Japanese wagyu A5 filet mignon, coming in at a cool $168. And that’s before you add any sides or an apéritif.

So, this is good intel if you have a corporate credit card, your rich uncle is visiting from out of town, or you play for the Bucks. But what about the rest of us? How does your average workaday email newsletter writer strap on the ol’ feedbag at Carnevor?

There was a time when you could just get a paper route to make some extra walkin’-around money, but those days are gone now that we’re in our Internet Era. In an effort to make the most expensive restaurant in Dairyland more approachable for us for regular folks, we did a little brainstorming. Here are a few ideas for side hustles to pay for dinner at Wisconsin’s most expensive restaurant:

Recycle Cans: The average price for aluminum in Wisconsin is $.36 per pound. Gulp!

Sell Unused Items Online: Be careful not to sell your best outfit. There’s probably a dress code at Carnevor.

Baby and Petsitting: Be sure to double-check which one you’re watching and adjust care accordingly.

Become an Influencer: Hot people only. Popularity is due to being authentic, not how your body looks in tight clothing.

Three-card Monte: Choose games in reputable allies only, and don’t take your eyes off the queen.

Crypto Scam: Somebody’s making money on those. Why not you?

Sell Organs: Just be sure not to sell your mouth or you’ll spoil your fancy dinner.

By now you should have a plan for enjoying a very expensive meal. It’s not going to happen overnight, so use that time to brush up on your table manners. And when you finally get there, don’t fill up on bread. And remember to take small bites. Savor it. You probably won’t be back anytime soon.
