It’s a barn! It’s a live music venue! It’s both!
World-class artists make the Shitty Barn a must-stop summer venue.

Barns dot the landscape here in Wisconsin. They are crucial for storing hay, sheltering livestock, stowing farm implements, and hiding from crooked sheriffs or torch-wielding posses. But one in Spring Green serves as a live music venue, hosting intimate shows during the summer months.
It’s called, ahem, the Shitty Barn. But don’t let the name fool you; it attracts some world-class talent west of Madison every year.
The Shitty Barn Sessions run from May to October, typically on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. They run the gamut from quiet to more energetic, so there’s a good chance you can find an artist that matches your taste, unless you’re into Viking Death Metal or something.
They have a bar serving beer, wine, soda, and water. Each show also has a rotating cast of local vendors selling food, or guests can pack their own meals.
Tickets for May, June, and July shows are on sale now. Several have already sold out, but they do have a Ticket Swap site where fans can buy and sell their tickets safely.
You can get a feel for some of the artists performing this summer with their 2026 Season Preview playlist on Spotify, so you don’t end up at a show that doesn’t fit your vibe. Tickets for the second half of the summer go on sale soon. Keep an eye on their social media accounts to stay in the loop on when it happens.
You may have more questions. Fortunately, the Shitty Barn has a robust FAQ section on its website that goes into the minute details that a weekly email newsletter can’t.
See you in the barn. Possibly at a show, but more likely when we’re hiding from a mob of angry townspeople in the hayloft.
