The sunflowers are back in all their glory. They’re currently in full bloom all over Wisconsin.

The vibrant flowers are typically at their peak in August, and a Drink Wisconsinbly investigation has uncovered that it is currently August!

If you’re the type who’s keen on having your photo taken to share on social media, you don’t need anybody to explain that a sunflower field makes a fine backdrop.

But, if you’re like the Drink Wisconsinbly Week in Review and have a face made for writing email newsletters in the dimly-lit subbasement of the DW Pub, you can still enjoy nature’s splendor without getting documented proof of your fading beauty.

Space constraints and general laziness prevent us from listing all of Wisconsin’s sunflower hotspots here. Fortunately, some area publications have put together a collection of farms around the state that are open to the public.

In addition to the main attraction, many of the farms have mazes, pickable produce, animal petting, country markets, and other attractions. Perlick Farms in Washburn County even has a distillery. You’ll have to do a deep dive into your nearest field to see what else they and their neighbors have to offer to the sunflower-viewing public.

Remember, there’s no time to dawdle. Before long, those bright yellow sunflowers will turn into dull brown birdseed, so you’d better get primping. Don’t forget to wear your finest DW gear if you believe you have what it takes to be the DW’er of the Day.
